NAKED ISLAND.

The Naked Island was the second place we visited. The reason why it is called as such it’s because there’s nothing to it but an island with white sand floating on top of the water. The White Island of Camiguin comes to mind but Naked Island is much wider and more stunning.

BOSLON ISLAND:

It was at Boslon Island that I took a plunge and really had fun time swimming. It was too good to be true. We were, indeed, lucky that there were only very few people.2015-01-14_Boslon_Island.jpg

PANGLANGAGAN ISLANDS.

Our guide said that during low tide, visitors can walk into the nearby two subsidiary islets. The twin rock promontories, both named Panlangagan, hold a secret cave which was used by Japanese as a burial ground of fallen soldiers during World War II.

SIARGAO TOURIST SPOT

Magpupungko Rock Pools

Low tide reveals a beautiful natural pool at this idyllic stop. A dramatic rock formation on the edge of the pool is composed of a large rock that appears to be squatting on another rock. ‘Pungko’ in Visayan means to squat. Thus, the name Magpupungko. The clear warm waters of the pool are deep enough to allow rock jumping from the namesake rock. Fish and other marine life provide a fantastic opportunity for snorkeling. Accessible by boat or road, this spot is a 45 minute ride from General Luna. No stop here would be complete without a burger and beer at Bollox Bar on the ride home. If you have a few too many beers, you can stay at Bollox Bar’s free-of-charge ‘Drunks Dorm’.

Sugba Lagoon – Siargao, Philippines

The Sugba Lagoon is located in a remote area between the mangroves and rock formations of Del Carmen, Siargao. From General Luna – the surfing capital of the Philippines – it will take approximately 90-120 min. by van and boat to get there.17194016_10208813537999310_1595704426_o.jpg

Cloud 9 Surfing

– one of the most well-known waves world wide and one of the best in the Philippines, is a perfect barreling right hand reef break that can be both fun and challenging. Although it is a relatively short wave, the fact that it barrels nearly the whole way guarantees satisfaction.

Daku Island

Daku Island is one of the finest best beaches in the Philippines can be found in Siargao. It is the biggest among the three popular island destinations in Siargao (the other two are Naked and Guyam Islands). For first timers, you will be amazed by the breathtaking scenery of the island and also, for its cleanliness.364_902507170741651308.jpg

Guyam island

Guyam Island is one of the three islands located in the Surfing Capital of the Philippines, Siargao. Naked Island

Ever been to Siargao, The Surfing Capital of the Philippines?  Then you should also try walking in the white sands of Naked Island. Just like the White Island of Camiguin, Naked Island of Siargao doesn’t have any plants or trees growing except for some small bushes around it.

It is probably one of the top tourist spots in Siargao because of the beautiful scenery that you can only find in the island.

Best Delicacies from the City of Island Adventures

SAYONGSONG

This is a well-known Surigao delicacy that is a rice cake wrapped in banana leaves. This is specifically made of glutinous rice, brown sugar, roasted peanut, calamansi juice, and coconut milk. For others, it is like a “puto” with added coconut milk.3-1-768x475.jpg

POOT-POOT GINAMOS

A unique tasty treat of Surigao, this delicacy may be unfamiliar to most tourists and some Filipinos from the northern part of the Philippines. It can be bought with fish sauce at a very cheap cost, making it more attractive to tourists.

KINILAW

Commonly known in most provinces, this dish in Surigao made a distinction among all others. It has an exotic flavor that can be found nowhere in the Philippines but in Surigao alone. In fact, travelers all over the world and those within the country would visit Surigao just to taste its unique and delicious Kinilaw. Basically, this is made of raw fishes, cooked in vinegar with ginger, onions, chili peppers, and salt.

Gigaquit Rhum

If you have friends or family members who love to drink, this one might be the best giveaway you can give them when traveling from Surigao.
